That's good going - both of you.

Definitely tempted to get some beach detecting done, but still not entirely sure about how to spot the black sand (i know what it looks like) / know that the beach has shifted.

The black sand is like sand but black and you can't miss it lol, as I found out to my cost yesterday.
I went to Porthcawl Yesterday morning and met up with our resident gold digger Badger.
All I found after was a 20p piece, I think Mikey did a little bit better. After about 3 hours of detecting, being absolutely soaked through to my underpantsand having sand in places it was never meant to go, I remembered why I absolutely loathe beach detecting in the rain on wet sand, I couldn't find any dry sand. When I left him Mikey was heading for his dinner and was up for round 2. Very dedicated man our Badger and deserves everything that he finds. I'll probably
do it again though Grin Grin

aberavon is a cruel temptress Angry she teases me with gold then just throws fishing weights at me ,then a little bit of silver then next time maybe 3 st christophers ,then 3 goldies then just fishing weights for a month.then loads of old pre decimal pennies.
she is so cruel but keeps tempting me back with memories of 14 rings in 3 days,a charles first sixpence ( my first beach hammy) and two cart wheel pennies and two sovereigns (one with a pendant mount ) she is good too me then evil and will probably be the death of me ,aberavon i love you and hate you you cruel bitch

Took another 125 coins from Aberavon today, many of which were pre decimal. That brings my total coinage for 4 trips to Aber to around 400  Cool Nice to see the old money giving itself up for a change. Also came away with a couple of sub standard rings, must have come out of a cracker  Roll Eyes
Don't think the yellow stuff wants to show itself yet  Undecided
