Title: First Roman coin!!! Struggling to ID

What a great feeling it is finding your first Roman coin  ;D ;D Problem is I'm struggling to ID it. Going to have to put a Roman coin book on my Christmas list  :D Any ideas?

Tetricus 2 !!!....now I'm just guessing.i t does look a bit like the one I recently posted.a be the great "DOC" and Romana identified  for me !!! 😀..great coin find,well detected and saved..👏👏 👍
Now I wait for someone who really can put a n I D to it !!..👍

Well it's not going to be me.  I can only say the same as I did to Chris, it's def. Roman. Tetricus was a man. I think that's a female head.
Lucky you finding a nice, identifiable coin.

It's a Follis of Constantine I mate. with Sol standing left, raising hand and holding globe. nice coin  ;)

Managed to narrow it down to a Constantine I, Lyons, AE follis. 313-314 A.D  ;D

If you look at the letters visible (...IANVS) and then compare it to how the legend is spaced on these coins (follis) then it's most likely to be Maximianus, with the Genio Populi Romani reverse.

I can't make out the mint mark, but I probably would 'in hand'

dates to around 300AD

You're right! Looking at the coin up close, it's definitely Maximianus. Great spot  :D
