Title: My last 3 outings and only 1 silver
Post by: Zeus (Joel) on October 31, 2013, 11:46:53 AM
My last 3 outings only yielded me 1 silver in the way of a hammered but of who or what no one will know as it's so badly battered and no visible letters or bust that i can see. My my luck will get a bit better on Sundays charity rally.

Oh and found my 1st ever barrel tap

If anyone can identify the object in pic 1-3 and 4 and 5 would be appreciated

There see you didn't need our help at all, you got it in one....tat ;D I would tentatively, and I do mean tentatively, say possibly a Roman Brooch and if so then maybe a Hod Hill or Alesia type ???

Thanks Geoff, I'll pop it into Mark at the next meeting when i take my Annular brooch back to him, Took the brooch last month but he didn't have any treasure receipts.

The 4th picture is part of a horse bridle ?

And that's still 1 more hammered than I've had all year - and 1 more silver than I've had in the last three trips out too! (unless you count a nickel 6d and 10pence I had today)......
