Title: Pipster and Roman Rays cold morning out Post by: Pipster on December 08, 2010, 10:36:41 AM 06:30 scrapping ice from my totally frozen car Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - 7.5 I must be mad :-\ car loaded and two coffee's later I'm off down the M4 to Ray's for a mornings detecting, another coffee at Ray's and off we go to one of Ray's local farms ... Still -7.5, I put on my thermal suit ( not a pretty sight ) but hey it made Ray laugh ;D ;D
and at least I was warm ;) So into the fist Field and first blood to Ray a George II half penny ( I think ) then a nice old button and two more coins, :( Was my E-trac working) Back to the car for yet another coffee and a bite to eat. Fed and watered into the second Field ....... Bingo my first coin of the day a 1922 penny, Then a lovely British rail button, the finds just kept comming 9 Pre decimal in total, Ray shouted me over to see a very nice buckle ;) Then the unmistakable sound of silver, A silver tea spoon in super condition. A great morning's detecting had by all. And the best thing I didn't have to take any more naked photos of Ray ;D Title: Re: Pipster and Roman Rays cold morning out Post by: Chef Geoff on December 08, 2010, 10:54:08 AM Nice going both and well done on getting out let alone being able to dig through the permafrost.
