Title: Road Trip
Post by: U.K. Brian on August 21, 2009, 01:25:06 PM
Well funeral time arrived so it was up at five, on the road at six, in the floods ten minutes later which forced a re route and then we ended up in fog. A trip from hell !

Manchester was bathed in sun when we arrived and stayed that way until we crossed the huge graveyard when it decided to rain cats and dogs.

Still duty done and we decided to miss the beauty of central Wales this time in favour of the motorway. After the first bad crash, a lorry looked like it had tried to park sideways on a small car, we had a change of mind and took the M54 towards Shrewsbury. Not a good decision as we were soon stopped with another crash just in front.

When we did get moving again the sun was out and it was a fantastic trip through beautiful farmland areas that looked excellent for detecting. Lots of castles and what I like even more huge churches in fairly small villages that suggest wealth in past times and not all covered in modern development.

The whole area in the Shrewsbury, Newtown, Ludlow triangle looks ripe for investigation. Has anyone worked it at all ?
