Title: help with possible brooch

hi,hope you could help me identify this possoble brooch.its 6cm diameter and is fairly heavy,think it might be some sort of lead alloy.there is also traces of what looks like a gold coating that used to be on it.im hoping it might be roman as ive yet to find anything positivly identified as roman  :( ,thanks.

Nice find, but it's not a brooch and not Roman sorry.

It's a harness mount (bridle boss), circa 18th century, like this:
