it was proberbly lost, but they have been thrown away in anger too after another big row, ,  if it was and they tried to find it later, i wonder how long they had searched for it, hmmmm

i have since found out that it's 14ct gold..marked 585, probably american gold...the stone is not diamond unfortunately,but a diamond substitute called "cubic zerconia"..but it still makes me happy to have found it !.... Grin...byron
