Volunteered to do some overtime this morning 8am-11am,so although it was ideal weather for detecting i couldn`t go till this afternoon, but the extra £60 will come in handy for my "New detector fund" (SE wanted - X70 for sale)
Anyway, managed a couple of hours up the local farm & although the finds were thin on the ground it was great to be out after 5 & abit days working.
The farmer & son was gathering the potatoes from a field i`ve been waiting to get on,so after the usual pleasantries i followed behind the tractor with enthusiasm as potatoes require a deep plough & i had visions of all them deeply buried goodies waiting for me near the surface.5 or so minutes in the first coin,a 1957 half-penny,not brill but in my book,a coins a coin! 10 mins later a 1937 thrupenny bit,"ay" i thought,we`re going the right way,the coins are getting older! Then had a couple of buttons,a oldish window catch(i think) then 2 shoe buckles, one complete(my first complete) then my theory on the coins getting older was dashed as a 1976 half-pence turned up.
So the light was fading fast so headed back to the car.Noticed the hinges on the Church door & thought they are older than anything i found today so took a pic,"Aint they awesome" Grin Also took a pic of the church that is surrounded by the fields i have.
So nothing spectacular to report but great to be out none the less  Grin
