MAD COWS EAT METAL DETECTORISTS !!!🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂

« on: June 09, 2015, 05:06:03 PM »

Hi to you all, went out yesterday on a new field freshly cut and ready to divulge its secrets,
We got there much later than anticipated due to one thing or another.
Firstly,I cannot remember a colder June day ever!!and the wind was blowing a force10!!!
My mate(Andy) was the first to come up with an "awl" yes a real awl not a bronze nail ll but alas,it was the only one found(not declareable)
Anyway, I found a bashed up thimble, a couple of coins, one of which may be a George the Huh??
A piece of bronze "dross" interesting !!
A couple of very small non discript buttons
One of those things that they used to put on the beasts Horne's(sorry the name escapes me)
But the thing that caught my attention was the piece of shoe buckel, which is decorated quite ornately, must have been quite impressive in those days, anyone got any idea of approximate date of buckel ??
Thanks for looking👍

A nice little array of finds there. I found a nicely decorated Silver Buckle a few weeks back, I'll post a pic later on.
