Scarce issue - SUN Mint mark - Finest state

looks like a piece has been soldered in to repair it

Iv been watching it and your right it is a scarce issue, it was obviously once mounted, with a very poor repair job !! it should be 22ct but looks like they used 9ct even rose gold

yep a clumsy mess of a repair and they call it VF ??it could be done again and a better job done on the mlssing piece

Its funny I was chatting to a friend about this coin before it finished, he said it would be worth a bid if it doesn't go two high as it books over £1000 in F (but it went to high as it would be around the £300 mark to repair!) ...... My mate once had a rare Bristol half groat plugged what cost him £100 but it was a very good job, its not surprising as he does work for the BM.
The plugged half groat has been listed on EBay lately, but not at the moment.

Galoshers the James 1st sold at London auctions on the 1/6/14 for £800 - commission with the eBay fees there is very little in it.

The best one at the moment is AMR coins priced at £750 high grade but week portrait ex jewellery.......Im sure there's a few £'s in it if sold on eBay.
