Had a couple of hours on the beach for a change just a couple of decent finds , a very nice George 6th two shilling unfortunately not silver and an unusual buckle for the beach plus loads of 303 bullets.
Anyone any idea on age of the buckle please

You actually have half a buckle, the top part is missing. The part you have is a looped chape & double tongue which was the fixing part of a shoe buckle. In use from 1720's
It certainly is an unusual find from the beach. Do you know if there was a landing/unloading jetty there in days gone by. Some one told me that his friend found several shoe buckles around the remains of an old jetty. Lost, he thought, as the Men jumped out of the boats.

as far as i know there has never been a jetty or any other sort of landing stage in this area  Val
