Yes, chuffed about the hammered, will post some pics later. Not a lot of detail on it but should be enough for an ID.

Nice day out, I didn't find much myself only a couple of vicki halfpennies and a couple of brooches. Congratulations to Will and Keith on the hammered , the smiles were a treat to see. Also Jason with the hammered farthing. Happy days.

Thanks Chris, really made up with my hammered. Have you had a chance to find out anything about the brooches yet?

A good day all round; thanks guys! Got myself a 1945 George VI Ship Halfpenny, a 1989 Queen Elizaboth 50p, and a handfull of those 9mm blanks. Oh; and plenty of scrap, two pieces of silver paper, two buttons, and a ringpull.

I do rememberr when getting hammered had a totally different meaning.

I will do my best to attend the next dig and will provide transport for Chris.

Yes I did, a bit more detail. Can see that it's the Canterbury mint, struggling to see if it's Edward 2nd or 3rd though. Will post pictures in a bit.
