WOW, this site looks good! This new site idea was kept very secret or did I miss something lol. Where is the shout box or has that been taken away?

Gets my vote,100% better.

Its a bit of a surprise...  I suspect that Geoff will restore the familiar front end very soon, complete with all the usual gadgets and the shoutbox, this is the standard default theme for the board. Looks like he's had a few issues today :(

Well I'm sorry but I don't like it.  Since I joined it always had a unique appearance, I love that Dragon.  Now it looks just like all the others.

I know it's an age thing but I don't like changes.

I loved the usual front end as well, dont worry, I'm sure its just temporary Val...

i'm sure there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes to restore the main site that we are all used to. I've no doubt it will take some time.

So please be patient, meanwhile lets just make the best use of this default site.   ;D ;D

I hate the new look,the pale blue makes the site look cold and lifeless.
I hope this is a temporary thing,I miss the DW logo and the colours of the original site are much nicer.

It's not a new site John don't worry in fact as far as I remember this is how it looked all those years ago when it started, the "proper" site got a puncher this afternoon so is being fixed as we talk ;)

I like the new skin. Clean and attractive.

For some reason this 'new' site, even if this is the same 'skeleton' if you like that was used before, is for whatever reason running smoother/faster on my pc than it ever did in the past, and I have had serious issues connecting to this site in the past, on different OS, and it performed slower for me. I also prefer the tabs at the tob as it is now "home" etc, and I (unless I'm blind) never noticed a search function for the site before and it works very well (I typed in "Roman") and it came up with all posts with that word. So much easier then to find stuff.

I like this site, as Frank says it works great on the mobile, no need to zoom in etc

There's always been a search function Jon in fact the other format had two but yes it will be faster as there are no graphics to load ;)

Nope! don't like it, if it aint broke, don't fix it. Why the change, have you give'n an explanation??. It looks very dull.

Is this the new site we need to get used to? or will things be changing back in time, its a little strange but still a good easy to use layout.

I don't mind this set up, but i do miss the home button at bottom of page  :( pain having to click back button all the time.

There IS a 'HOME' button on the dark blue bar under your name.  And, it's closer to get to than the old one  ;D

I know there's a load of work gone into the new site, but I don't like it.

I cannot see fault with the new site apart from it could do with more colours. ;D

It's so similar to XP owners forum, same colours , can I say that :o I have got a Deus, and when I logged in initially it was confusing, that said I guess we will get use to the new style I would like the shout box back and despite being the other side of the bridge I would like to see the Logo back  :o either way it's the best forum out there, and it's the guys and girls on here that make it so :-*

I guess the software must be an improvement, but please can the forum return to its old look?

Guys there is no new site design, this is the generic default site for simple machines, the software site that DW is based on.

I have the normal site showing on mine, its only when I log out that I get this new site. I just phoned Proconsul and he is looking into it, try clearing your cache and see if it returns to normal.

Taff I think you are seeing the "newer" site as you have design rights the same happens with me on my website but a simple test is can you see a shout box? if so when was the last shout? Even Google are showing the old site on their cached images ;)

As I say that's because you have design rights the same is true of Neil that's why his is the only shout since the forum went down ;)

Sorry, I didn't realise a lot of people were getting the minimalised default version of the website. All admins were getting the full version so we didn't twig. This was a side effect of the database problems we had earlier in the week. I have sorted it out now and everyone should be seeing the full website with the dragon at the top. If you're still seeing the simplified version please refresh your cache.

The shout box is fully working now as far as I can see.

(P.S. there never was a 'new site')
