Title: Re: NEW TOY GETS ITS 1ST OUTING Post by: Mike on November 15, 2016, 03:39:45 PM well the day didnt start very well , turned on the explorer no tone , headphone lead faulty >:( and a heavy drizzle set in , oh the joy of metal detecting :D :D .
the field i chose ( old pasture ) has been very heavily detected and to be honest i wasnt holding out a lot of hope of many signals so this would be a fair test for that little extra depth this coil promises . signals apart from iron were scarce but a few bits of small lead the odd button and shotty top turned up , then a little roman at a respectable depth , the 1st for a long time off this field , im now getting cold and very damp and beginning to make my way back to the car more iron signals then a very faint 'grot' signal and up came roman #2 for the day at a very decent 8" . the coil is very stable with little chatter , sensitive to small targets and deep , i very much doubt i would have had the 2nd roman with the sef coil i usually use , so all in all a good result and very promising for future hunts on similar fields :) :) :) Title: Re: NEW TOY GETS ITS 1ST OUTING Post by: celticspikey on November 15, 2016, 03:51:15 PM These little things are here to test us Mike, at least you hit some roman, get warmed up, and get another session soon. ;)
