Title: MD User Survey
Post by: FWinkley on August 22, 2011, 03:10:39 PM
Dear all!

My name is Felicity Winkley and I am a PhD archaeology student conducting research on metal detectorists and their attitudes to landscape and objects findspots. I have the backing of the NCMD and am hoping to get 1,000 responses to my questionnaire, so I am really hoping you forum users might want to take part.

I developed the questionnaire in the Spring with the help of a great club in Kent, who gave me some good feedback. The final version is now ready to go live and can be accessed online at:

https://opinio.ucl.ac.uk/s?s=15062 (https://opinio.ucl.ac.uk/s?s=15062)

Also, If you or your club are interested in completing a paper version of the questionnaire, I am happy to post copies out. I am also interested in chatting to anyone who has a good tale to tell, or indeed about protecting land where you detect from nighthawks. Please spread the word!

Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks so much for your help, (Thanks as well for kindly letting me post this! Would be great to get some more responses from Wales!)

Felicity

Hi Felicity
Just completed your online survey.  I think it'll be a good idea to send a survey pack to all local clubs as many of their members do not have computers  :)

It unfortunately won't allow you to complete it accurately if your not a member of a club. Oh well I tried :-[

Thanks so much everyone! Really appreciate it!  :D

PS: If you're not a member of a club it should still let you complete it - you just have to type something like 'none' in the club box, and put 0 in the 'how many years' question.

Just to say, the questionnaire will only be running for a few more weeks if anyone else is interested in participating. Any more responses from Wales will be gratefully received!
