I have just seen a statement showing  that I am getting 100.0 Mbps on broadband with Bt. Is this true?
I know they are going to put it though fibreglass up to the box near my house but I canno think it is available yet even when it states it.
I clicked on the icon in the task bar and it shows 100.0 Mbps.

100 Mbs is probably the maximum speed of your ethernet card, the bit where you plug the cable connection into the back of your PC.

Click on the link to see how fast your connection is...

That equates to 1.6 mbps download speed. I'm not really sure how that compares with other people, it all depends on where you live as to what service you receive.
I get about 2 mbps, wondering what speed other users get ?

Paul,

If I lived in central Wales, I'd be pretty pleased with that.

Paul,

I shall re-phrase that.

If I lived in central Wales, I'd be pretty pleased to receive broadband !

I've got Orange, which has been terrible in the past, currently working well (that's probably the kiss of death).

Download 6824 Kbps, Upload 494 Kbps

I do suffer a bit with overload, that's probably why my connection speed is a bit naff. Could be something to do with the 2 x PC's, 2 x laptops, 2 x XBox 360's, 1x Hp Ipaq on the net, obviously not all at the same time. I had a bollocking off Orange, I was exceeding my download limit (I am on unlimited !). It shouldn't exceed 30 Gigabyte per month, I was near 80. Got it down to 29. They threatened to reduce my connection speed to 0.5 Mbs if things didn't improve.

There is a moral here, there is no such thing as "Unlimited net access".

Apparently there is.....
