Hi Peter,

We all know that you're a magician really, so please could you exercise you're magic powers on this folded, worn and raggedy hammy for me. Its had a vary hard life, it would be a shame to have to bury it in an unmarked grave  Angry

It's 21mm across the widest point and weighs in at 1.03g

Cheers,

I think Peter will have to be psychic to I.D. that one Techony.  Well found though, I wouldn't mind one just the same. Grin

My guess would be a groat, can I ask if you have calibrated your scales lately?
Have you cleaned it, as it doesn't have the "look" of silver though the weight is right. Though some of Henry VIII and Lizzy don't pass the silver test because of their debasement. I think I would have a go at unfolding the bit you can just to see if there may be anything left to id. Lets face it you've nothing to loose with this one.

You've got a point there Geoff. I'll have a bash tomorrow maybe and send in a photo of the pieces straightened flan  Grin

The scales are correct (just checked them) the silver is as thin if not thinner than the lizzies. She alo passed the sulpher test with flying colours but other than that; only been cleaned with water.

Cheers

As Geoff said, see if you can unfold it a bit to look if there's any detail visible. If not, then it can only be guesswork.

Or do I need to get my spirit guide to see it at some point in the past before it go into this sad state?  Wink

Well, spurred on by the guys, I decided to give the ole' hammered a hammering to see what was inside. Still no wiser, but at least I can now see a form of cross in the middle so I still think its a real one. The longest dimension is now 23.8mm and the weight has gone down to 1.01g after the exercise. Still a UFO to me Angry
