to walk them wet fields, with the sun on your back and your boots sinking in the mud. The shovel got heavier and heavier, the detector was pinging away merrily, a few nice finds came up which gives a lot of hope for this new site.

any ideas as to what the wotsits are, feel free to suggest!  the 2 roman coins are  4th and 3rd century respectively, the thimble, post 1800, and then theres the lead wotsit and the wotsit wotsit!

enjoy the pics .. particularly the silver!! Grin Grin

Well done on getting out Al. Weather turned just as I was getting geared up to go. Good job I didn't attempt it. Had a delivery of heating oil (OUCH !!! ) £747. Can you believe that. Shocked Angry  The driver said where I had intended to go had a good 2 inch of hail and snow.

Well, I'd say the 2 dangly bits are part of a broach and the little thingy that's round and square looks like the bit inside a lock that the bar goes through.
I'll leave someone else to guess the last one. Roll Eyes Grin

the silver piece looks remarkably similar to the 'mystery brooch' piccy you posted.
