Steve Beverstock has organised a Scan Club rally for Sunday 23rd August 09, in the Llandegveth area near Newport. Meet at 9.30 for a 9.45 departure.

Directions: from Junction 26 of the M4, take the A4051 North, and then follow the A4042 signposted Pontypool.
Once you are on the A4042, go straight through two roundabouts and you'll then pass the Gwent Police headquarters on your left.
At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit, signposted Crematorium and Golf Club. We meet at the pull-in on the left just off the roundabout, immediately before the crematorium.
The rally site is just a short drive from there.

Have your £5 ready for Albert as usual.

Sorry I can't make the rally. Got Grandstand ticket for Cardiff v. Bristol City match which kicks off at 1.15pm.  Too much of a rush.
Good luck to those who attend.

I am also at the City game - my season ticket is in the middle of the Bob and left towards the away fans, but far enough away from our idiots and three rows from the front to still enjoy the game. I must be getting old! Cheesy

Gutted I thought it was originally on the Saturday as well! Sorry the city come first on this one!

Well Neil after a debacle with the ticket office about tonight. Discussing the game on Sunday with my Lisa I have decided to go detecting as a boycott about bubble games and on the day ticket purchases and the club loyalty scheme have driven me mad this last week. Will record the game from sky and watch Sunday night and go out for the day with the Minelab.

Thats a shame mate that you won't be making it - nice and safe ground to visit now. If you fancy just coming down to see the ground for a different match let me know and I'll sort it out no problem. It's on me as well.

We have had the bubbles for about half our fixtures every season for nearly ten years now - ever since Millwall first game of the season in August 1999. Like you I refuse to go on Bubbles as well - its not what football is about. Unfortunately our idiots revel in it - many of them are school friends of mine from 20+ years ago, and I can never quite get my head round what they get up to. Bloody idiots and I frequently tell them so!

I now go to the football and have done for 10 years with my 72 year old father who has watched them since the 150's. I take him to 2 or 3 away Cardiff games a season and a Premier League game as well which I drive to. The Bubbles have ruined it for the ordinary fans. Even Newcastle away who we haven't played in years is likely to be a bubble and rated Category C - its a joke we have no history of trouble with them !

Sorry to high jack this thread with football talk.

Mike (altinkum) - I don't know if it has been detected on before - some of the fields have been ploughed recently I believe (as in the last year or so), so there should be every chance of good finds - put it this way - as good a chance as anywhere !.  Maybe Phil (coleggwent) may have more idea, as he knows the area. Excuse my ignorance but what's a "bubble" with regard to the football? Is it a term you're using to describe the troublesome element?

It's going to be a cracker of a match especially as it's a derby type game against the "English enemy" (LOL!!) but they're on the same points as Cardiff and it'd be nice to give them their first league defeat of the season. We don't want that rif-raf with us in the Premiership next season!!!!!!!!

I forecast Cardiff City 3 Bristol "S**tty" 1

Rjm, A bubble is where you have to purchase a ticket through the club and only travel on official club transport and are then herded around the country like sheep with no say in anything you do and have a police escort everywhere as soon as you are 20 miles from where you are going. Horrible way to be treated and has the result of less and less people going to away matches.
