The first one is a Dutch duit, circa early 18th century.

the roman reads IMP CONSTANTINUS AVG  ... which suggests Constantine 1  dating from 307 to 318ad ....

[ref Reece & James, roman coins]

I.m sure probono will add more info about the coin.

Cracking condition Roman Chris. Hartley,s comes to mind.

We all dream about finding a settlement but I'd settle for a trading post any day. Point of interest, are you finding any pottery ?

Alan is correct - the coin is of Constantine the Great, reverse SOLI INVICTO COMITI (the unconquered sun and his mates), struck in London (PLN mint mark) - it's a reduced follis or Ae3 (depending on which book you want to look at!). Around the 310AD mark (without looking it up properly).
