They are shower proof which is good enough for conditions in the UK I've been out in rain that's left every part of me and machine laterally dripping and the machine has never missed a beat, though I've been left sneezing lol, the secret if there is one is to take off the covers afterwards as well as taking out the battery and air it thoroughly ;)

Chears sounds good to me ......i never thought of taking them off afterwards and removing the battery to air them so lucky I asked .... just want to get out but wasn't sure and there's no sign of the rain letting up ...I don't care if I catch me death long as I get a few signals and the machines OK lol ...thanks  ;)

Hey Raistlain, don't forget, also remove the battery from your pin-pointer, and after cleaning, place the pointer near (not on) a radiator or in the airing cupboard.so by gentle warmth it will stop your pointer from falcing out.
Well,it works for me,just a suggestion. Good hunting!!!👍
