Post by: farmer(phil) on May 01, 2010, 04:53:52 PM
Peter
If you could enlighten me ???

Nice morning, phoned my butty Melonhead and decided to go out today.
Had a good morning....think some 24 coppers, tokens turned up in a mornings detecting plus odds and ends.
Found this hammered, so well worth while

Thats a little beauty Phil. Well done good sir. I can see the EDWARD on the legend so it is an Eddy. Can,t tell you any more as hammered are not my forte.

Nice one phil. It's Canterbury mint, and I think it's Class 10cf5, which are usually classed with other class 10 coins as Edward I, but this sub-class was actually issued during the reign of Edward II, around 1309-1310.

Thank you Peter

Didn't have a clue myself,.....they're very confusing to me.

That's the second Edward 1 you've sorted for me
Cheers and thanks for you i.d.
