Title: Coin Identification Books
Post by: ysbytymike on September 08, 2011, 07:37:58 PM
Picked up two very interesting books in Hay on Wye today.

1/ Collecting Coins by Frank Purvey (1969) Marked selling price 5/- now £3.00
2/ Coin Collecting by T. Hanson (1967) No market original price but again now £3-00

I was surprised how few book stores even kept books on coinage in Hay. We only found the one shop and even then
there were only a few titles there.

A friend of mine who collects stamps, says the stamp fair held in Neath on the first Wednesday of the month does have a stall
there where he's sure he's seen books on collecting and identifying coins. Certainly worth a visit me thinks.

Mike, you were lucky to find any books mate. I was in hay on wye about a month ago and found none all day! One lady tried to sell me a book on nylon decorative buttons, "because they are the same shape" ha!
