Title: A lovely find. Post by: Mrs Steptoe on April 21, 2011, 06:45:13 PM I detected this little beauty a short while ago,but wanted to show it to my fellow members at the next meeting of the BMDC before I posted the pics on the Web.
A lucky find-no other metal around,not even iron.It was in the'lid'-after using the Garrett probe in the hole and finding no signal,I could see the bright golden-yellow of the coin in the earth. It goes without saying that I am thrilled to bits :) Can't stop thinking about the poor soul who lost it all those years ago-they must have been gutted. I like to look at the human aspect of my finds and then put them in the context of where they were found,as I was taught.
