HI ALL
out today with staterchaser and ian john to a farm in the herefordshire area.we walked into our first field of the day and it was.nt long before the coins and artefacts were coming up with a few georgeans buckles ect-ect.ceri had a nice spindal werl.then i took the first silver of the day in the form of a george v six-punce as useual.after about an hour half.we had our fair share of georgeans and vicky.s we decieded to have a coffee break and then hit field two.
after break we then entered field two.
and wwooww coins and artefact.s where coming up every 5 foot.mostly the georgeans and vicky.s with the odd nice buckles and badges.brooches.myself i found another silver georgean one shilling.after about an hour in field two.ceri shouted over to me.ray come here ive got number five.lol.at first i did,nt know what he was so exited about number five.lol.
when i got over to him he had one of the nicest mary groats ive ever seen.what a beaut it is.welldone mr staterchaser.i then realized what he ment about number five.he,s had five hammereds in the last five times out.i say he was on a roll. a good one.lol.
between myself and ceri.we managed to pull out 6 silver.3 six-punces.one shilling.one hammered.and ceri also found a nice silver spoon.between the three of us our total count of coins was 85.what a great days detecting.would.nt it be great if every field was like this one.sometimes detecting can be so much fun.here.s the photo of the coins and ceri.hammered six-punce.im sure ceri and ian will add they.re artefacts to the thread.
cheers all
raymondo

Excellent find Ceri, fantastic Mary groat in superb condition  Smiley Smiley
Just thinking, it's not a half groat is it? Worth 4 times as much.

Photo doesnt do it justice actually, scanned it on the flatbed. Well chuffed! Also had a lovely Silver spoon dated 1796. Had good success the last few weeks, feel like getting out more unfortunately work gets in the way. Smiley
