I have just bought a Golden Mask 3.  I can't get out as my fields are flooded.  I have been playing with it indoors but cannot get it to ground balance.  We have concrete floors.  Should I be able to balance it indoors or is it a on the field thing only.

hi Brian the trouble with setting up any machine indoors is all the electromagnetic fields that are in the household.
we have all done it having a play indoors but it will only confuse you and give you terrible results.
hope this helps.

Brian its best done outdoors mate, as Ian have said, things like tele's, radio's, micro waves, etc.  will only interfere with your detector and not give the proper readings, it will only confuse things for you fella......

It is correct what everyone is saying but I don't think that you have to go to a field to ground balance it can be done just as well in your own back garden or any piece of waste land
also i think that you have to ground balance at each new place you go to

Hi Deb

You Should GB on the land your detecting on
I dont know what machine you got but if hasnt got automatic tracking you should be GBing on a regular basis.

Soil mineralisation can change from field to field area to area.
With explorers you just find a quiet spot place the coil on the ground and press noise cancel
On the F75 you have push the pinpoint trigger away from you and pump like a maniac lol

The f75 has a FE2 O2 Bar graph that indicates the amount of magnetic mineralization thats in the soil

Full Ground balencing Instructions should be in your manual

all Best Phil
