Title: Re: Cut Quarter for id if poss Post by: The Doc on March 03, 2012, 07:36:46 PM Well found. The first letter of the mint is an E, so it's Exeter or York. Looks to me like a V is the second letter, but not certain. If it is a V than the mint is York (Ever, Everw, Everwic, etc.).
Not sure of the class or the monarch yet - any chance of some sharper images Herbie? Could do with being certain what the second letter of the mint is and seeing the hair curls more clearly. Still not entirely sure what the second letter of the mint is, so Exeter is still a possibility for me. |
