Long shot but any chance of an id on this cut quarter??

well your not missing much thats for sure.......i'll have a  stab at king john ???......I'll let Pete tell you mint/moneyer/owner owners dog etc...... ;D

Well found. The first letter of the mint is an E, so it's Exeter or York. Looks to me like a V is the second letter, but not certain. If it is a V than the mint is York (Ever, Everw, Everwic, etc.).

Not sure of the class or the monarch yet - any chance of some sharper images Herbie? Could do with being certain what the second letter of the mint is and seeing the hair curls more clearly.

Probably a million miles out as I usually am with short cross :D But I'm going to go for Henry II, class 1B, York mint

That's a hell of a lot closer than I would've got Chef, just about managed to get that it's a cut quarter :D :D ::)

With the clearer pictures, I'm with class 1b as well Geoff. Still not entirely sure what the second letter of the mint is, so Exeter is still a possibility for me.
