Sorry the Deus is tuned in to these Denari at the moment this one is an early one of Trajan, and a nice example at that. Also had the lovely little 2 nd century brooch with traces of gold inlay, this type is a first for me and I haven't seen it before! these coupled with the grots, hammered and the buckles and pennanular brooch made for an excellent 8 hr search. This field has been searched many times in previous years however it was with the  Minelab Soverign and Elite, but I have to say the Deus has opened this field up and annihilates the performance of the Minelab, probably due to ground and Iron conditions.  Wink Wink

Well done on some more cracking finds - that's a Hell of a site you have there.

Keep them coming

Cheers

At this rate you'll have to just go out detecting all the time Smiley

I sometimes wonder if find rates are different with different machines because you discrim out more or less? - I found with my minelab that I used to miss many items because I only dug certain signals. If there were more signals left on the farm I detect on, then I would be digging more (I've even dug up the minerals). I found much less with my Deus than with my ETRAC - it's quite possible I wasn't used to it - it also had the 9" coil, compared to a 13" ultimate on the ETRAC......when it worked, I was digging more things (perhaps different things) with my GM4, but again they were things I would have found with pretty much any other detector - and certainly I've not found anything on my hoard field since I cleared it with the ETRAC......apart from all the hot rocks of course Smiley

Anyway you Trajan is this one:-

Trajan Denarius. Struck 103-111 AD. IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P, laureate bust right, drapery at shoulder / COS V P P S P Q R OPTIMO PRINC, Dacia standing with bound hands before pile of arms, DAC CAP in exergue

(or a variant)

would need closer pictures of the hammered to comment much on them.
