Hi everyone, been waiting to post one of my finds worth showing.
Today was my day off work and decided to go out to a local permission.
Now I have found a couple of hammered coins and are in very good condition. (will show them later)
well the 3rd hole I dug today was my greatest find to date.
Yep my very first roman coin, and wow the condition is amazing.
could any one tell me anything about it?
All I no is that it is a constantius ii but could not find the same coin on the net

Lovely coin, think it is a nummus of constantine 11, but not too sure. Great coin to start your collection with. Well done.

That's a cracker - congratulations and may it be the first of many.

I would get back to where you found it. Where there is one . . .

look at www.wildwinds.com

you are correct it is a coin of Constantius 2 as caesar.

The reverse is Gloria Exercitvs, with Trp (dot) in the exerge.

Two soldiers and Two standards type c. 330ad, struck in Trier, sometimes called an Ae4, or a reduced follis.

Thank you for all the warm replys and answers to what it is.
Sorry for the late reply back, but i am not online for a while, so have to use the local library when i get the chance.

I intend on going to the the said spot again in the next few days, and sweep the area as slow as posible lol.

I did not expect to find roman in the area where i have my permission as there is no recorded history of any being found there, so that was a bonus in its self.
