At last , out yesterday and my first signal was this little dagger blade, its the most complete piece from this site so well pleased, second signal was the larger brooch. Thanks for looking. ;)

That dagger blade is a thing of beauty.

I'd be tempted to add a handle and try and recreate its full original appearance for display.

Great finds Paul, that dagger blade looks exactly like the one that the wife constantly sticks in my back, please don't make her another handle ??? ;D

Lovely finds again Paul it looks like a Wessex 1 dagger and what always amazes me is that the dagger would have been older to the Romans than those coins are to us and just goes to show how the requirements for a good place to live haven't changed through time ;)

Thats a good point there Geoff, what date would you put the blade at and would I be correct in thinking it would off had a wooden handle ? I know many had a bronze handle but I assume this one never or it may well have still been attached.  ;)

It does look like a Wessex 1 culture type as most of those are quite small if so then you're really back at the time of the Beaker people in the early Bronze Age 2500-2000 BC, difficult to say if all the hilts were the same but those that have survived, mainly from the bogs of Ireland and the Netherlands like the one below, have been horn  ;).
