Hi Pete , What side would you read the mint and moneyeur off on the coin ?

The reverse side with the cross on. The obverse of shortcross pennies always reads HENRICVS REX (This stayed unchanged throughout the reigns of Henry II, Richard I, John and Henry III), and the reverse has the moneyer and mint. The usual format is (Moneyer) ON (Mint).

e.g. RICARD ON LVND = London mint, Moneyer Ricard.
