There is some dirt left on coin...only given it a wipe over....Be nice if it was a contemporary forgery...sometimes worth more than the real thing !     Cheers, Tom....

Hi TeeCee - what size is it please?

The legend on the coin EDW RE ANGL DNS hyB is very unusual and the square form of the first E is also nothing like any genuine coin as far as I can make out. I'll be asking for an opinion on it elsewhere.

Thank you...thats very interesting observations......It's the size of a penny and seems to match the Eddy penny size in spinks...but I just got confused with so many configurations.....   Cheers, Tom....

According to Rod Blunt on UKDFD, this is definitely a Continental sterling (imitation of an Edward I penny).

There isn't one like it on UKDFD, so if you want me to record it there, please can you post larger (say 100 - 200 kB) images on a plain white or cream background here, the exact diameter in millimetres, and where it was found (nearest town will do), and I'll get it done.

That really is interesting...thanks for your efforts, yes, I will sort out pics as requested....I seem to remember when posting on here, files can be too large in size, but I will see what I can get away with......Cheers, Tom....
