Can anyone confirm that this is indeed a long cross of Henry III and not an early Edward Ist? They both bore the same hENRICVS legend.

Also any ideas on the Mint, Moneyer, or Class would be appreciated.

I am trying my best to finally ID my own coins this year, but am at a loss on this.

Thanks for your help
Neil

You've got more chance of stepping in rocking horse sh.. than you have of finding an Eddy voided longcross lol
It Henry as the eddy portrait is totally different.
I would say it's a class 5h-i and monier?HuhHuh? I'll be back lol.........
I give up lol Peter over to you.................... Huh

Thanks guys - I know I was clutching at straws with the Ed Grin Grin Grin  Have several Henry III, so was hoping for a different Plantagenet king. Have a look at the early varient Spinx 1377 and 1378 Chef and you'll see why I thought it may be possible. Granted from that time on nothing like it. Grin

Be great if you can add any more to its description.

I appreciate the help

Hope spring eternal lol I think we have all tried to see other things in our finds, I know I have Undecided
If you look at the Eddy coins including the voided longcross, the hair changes to the type we know from then on. Before this its more circles and pellets.
They obviously do turn up because the price on them is quite low but I have to say I've never seen one. Wink

Not an easy one at all due to the flat areas and wear.

I'm not 100% on this, but I agree with Geoff - Canterbury mint, and I think Class 5g.

The reverse is the hardest part on this, but my best guess is ALE/IN:/ONC/ANT

Moneyer is therefore Alein.

If anyone else comes up with a different reading, I'm open to suggestions.
