Another good day was had by all;D

The turnout wasn't brilliant - only 18 members were able to get there. I guess football and other things got in the way.

Was nice to see Sue out detecting again, now with a new ETrac, and also the unusual sight of Debbie without Brewster who had to stay at home with a sore paw Cry

We had two big stubble fields and also some pasture, and the stubble yielded the best finds of the day.

Tom was first with a very nice but clipped facing bust Canterbury mint halfgroat of Henry VII, which was Tom's first hammered for a long while. Soon after Albert found a tokenised James I halfgroat in the same area, and then Steve B followed with a Lizzie threepence, not in great condition but they all count Grin

Later it was reported that Brian M had found another broken hammered, possibly a Lizzie, and a Roman brooch, but I didn't see these.

Steve K then weighed in with a late Roman debased silver, and Stan (digger) came up with a Victoria Gothic florin. Someone had a Victoria 3d also, but I can't remember who that was now - Nick maybe?

My best find for the second week in a row was a lead spindle whorl, this a nice one decorated with lines and pellets.

Thanks again to Steve B for finding us the rally site, and to the weather for staying almost dry Grin

Sadly, someone forgot to take the club camera, so no pics Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Thanks Peter for the report. Sounds like some nice finds came up. A good smattering of hammereds to say the least.

Cheers
