Went out for me first detecting session of 2010 on sunday. No gold unfortunately, mainly shotgun caps and musket shot but did have a little silver brooch or pendant and some other thing which I think is sterling silver. Any ideas on what it could be?
Roll on spring and better weather!
Cheers.
Ben.

The long sterling silver thing comes apart and is hollow inside.

Well done Benny - your brave going out in this. The silver thing reminds me of a tyre pressure gauge - you know the old type, but I am probably miles out. A good shout by Salty as well - could be that.

Happy New Year to you and your good lady mate. Oh and the sheep dog.

cheers
