Hi, I am completely new to this and buying a metal detector for my son for his birthday. Can anyone give some good advice on how to calibrate the detector ?. I am based near Denbigh in N.Wales, does anybody have any reccomendations as to good places to go near me ?. Many thanks

What machine are you using?

Hard to give advice if you dont name machine. They all have different ways to program, set up and ground balance.

Etracs have a button to set ground balance, discrimination and tones

CScope has dials to set balance and discrimination, then a reset button to press before each new scan.
