Title: A footballer's Silver medalian
Post by: Al.Thepastfinder, ( Alan ) on May 18, 2009, 07:24:25 PM
I found this in a local field,  the assay mark says it from 1891 or 3 if i remember right, there must have been a football club around here at the time, unless he played away somewhere,  were City playing then Neil, ???  they had a pitch like that,  lol

Cardiff City weren't about in the 1890s. Early 1900s they were founded. That medal is quite a collectors item. Superb.

1899 we were founded and I feel sometimes like I have been watching them since then. The less said about that the better though after the end of season run in.

Can't be related to the Jacks in any way shape or form, I mean what have they ever won!!!!! ;D ;D ;D I'll get my coat now!!!

Became Cardiff City in 1907. Cardiff was still officialy a town until 1905. They were born out of Riverside Cricket Club and changed the name. Definitely weren't about from 1891 to 1893 in any guise though.
