Title: recording finds ?
Post by: outlaw on November 28, 2010, 11:51:36 AM
Out of curiosity, how do you keep a record of your finds

do you list and record on pc find spots of all finds eg buckles and buttons and corroded coins, keep them on a display

Or do you just record the choice finds and display them,

interested in how other detectorists organise their finds ???

For me after 6 yrs i am bogged down with loads of everything, are there outlets that will buy buttons etc ?

Thats a good question on the button front as like you I have jars full of the things and equally as many musket balls, copper pennies, bag seals, etc. I have also got to the point when I want to have a clear out.

The nice finds go in one of two display cases, but the general dross are packed into three crates that I really need to sort out.

There must be a market out there somewhere for a thousand or so buttons!

Cheers

why not make up a simple display tray and donate it to the local primary school.

i'm sure such a resource will be well received
