i remember making rings out of coins when i was a apprentice havent seen anybody trying it for at least 20 years.

We used to make rings out of pre 1947 coins which had a high silver content, I must have made dozens of them in work. Smiley Smiley

Used to make them out of pre 1947 half crowns when I was an apprentice. Any writing around the edge of the coin and the date end up around the inside of the ring. Sometimes I would make a ring for someone with a date in that was special to that person.
