Title: The Winterbourne Stickland Hoard Post by: Dale on March 28, 2015, 06:57:08 PM As Paul found a nice Ironage coin I thought id do a link to the latest coin hoard up for sale from the same tribe, its also a very good read by John Philpotts ( Silbury coins )
All coins sold comes with a booklet, I went for the one I fancied just to own a part of the hoard and history behind it, I think it great that the public can have the chance for a coin like this in there collection...... How heavy are they Dale - if they are decent silver (and >5 grams) then they have a higher price - I remember paying around £100 for good silver ones (the 'white gold' type) - I agree with Geoff though that I remember buying a pile of these (a few years ago) for less than £30 each.........
