Just received bad news Guy's regarding my future in - metal detecting - from Hospital
Consultant regarding my back and shoulder problems - been advised to pack the hobby
in - otherwise my back problem will develop - more problems. !!!
So yesterday i put all my gear up for sale - wasn't nice having to see my
gear being sold off to other people - but that's life i suppose after a good 38 year's in the hobby.
.... i have loved every outing since i got hooked on the hobby after starting out through
Archaeology into metal detecting for the last 38 year's.
BUT starting Today ....... I have a new hobby - EYES ONLY SEARCHING - so i am partly back
to metal detecting - but not swinging the machine, just using my eyes, otherwise known to
archaeologist's as FIELD WALKING .... so now i will still get out with ''the lad's on club digs'' whilst
they are detecting - but i will be using my eyes, and very carefully retriving finds with the aid of my
new ''grabbing stick'' for picking up items of interest like ancient pottery and prehistoric flints - which
i like collecting - maybe if i'm lucky maybe the odd coin or artefact - so one hobby ends and a new one
starts .... i am ready now to start going out again soon - so this ''EYES ONLY SEARCHING FORUM
will come in handy for me in the future....... just thought i would write a short article in keeping active.
thanks for reading - Guy's ...... you may have had enough - reading this anyway - so i'll go.
Regards, ....... Yorkshireowl
