                        Found this object whilst out this morning and at first thought it was going be some form of locking nut, until I found that there was no threads in the hole. The item appears to be well made and cast in bronze.

Sounds about right Chris; I also found a horse brass in the same area.

              Also found this in the same area. It was all in one piece until I tried to extract it from the rock hard clay. I am guessing that the item is a small pair of decretive brass picture frames, jointed together by a semi-circular brass wire that would enable them to stand upright on a shelf or side board. Or is my imagination running away with me?
