Title: Flavius Rufus stone - Caerleon Post by: Neil on December 02, 2008, 08:46:26 AM BBC Wales - 2nd December 2008
The name of a Roman centurion, who lived at Caerleon, Newport, 1,000 years ago, was revealed during excavatations. Flavius Rufus would have had an important military position at the fortress. Little more is known about him but a stone bearing his name has gone on display at the Caerleon museum.
