More important is its a Irish coin minted  3yrs after the battle of the Boyne, when William of Orange defeated James 11....A very interesting coin for Wales as a lot of Welsh fought on James side ...Celts always in the middle when trhere"s fighting to be done .. Grin..

There were very few Brits of any sort in Williams army as he didn't trust them to fight against there ex King, ironically The Irish hate James as much as William as he left the battle before the end he was known as Seamus a Caca and I'll leave it to your imagination as to what that means Grin

I was at Carricxk Fergus a few years ago (the landing place of William of Orange,I met lads from the Shankill,in Belfast who could trace there Scottish ancestry  back to Williams army at the battle of the Boyne.......

Grin If you believe that you'll believe anything, the majority of Ulster Scots were there long before William but if you listen to an Orange man he would have you believe his ancestor was the first across the Boyne, the majority of the important and tactical fighting on Williams side was done by the Dutch, Danish and French. In fact there collective memory in Ireland must sit as one of the strongest in the world just try going to Drogheda wearing a T-shirt saying "Cromwell was a nice guy" and I guarantee you'll be visiting the hospital (if your lucky). The truth is the Irish don't have ancestors just dead relatives Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
