Title: "RARE" half-Siliqua "UPDATE" Post by: Metalmickey on February 23, 2012, 08:33:50 PM Had a reply back from "Wildwinds" in Switzerland regarding the Roman Coin i found.....
This is an EXTREMELY rare coin, absolutely lovely condition, of Gratian.I would definitely like to use this for wildwinds, because I am sure I will never get to see another one. It really is rare. Here is the information from RIC: Gratian, AR half-siliqua, Rome mint, 378-383 AD. Obv: DN GRATIA-NVS PF AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev: VICTOR-IA AVGGG, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm. Mintmark RB Reference RIC IX Rome 36a, rated R4 (R5 is the rarest = 1 off, R4 is the next rarest with only a handful known in museums etc.) :o Title: Re: "RARE" half-Siliqua "UPDATE" Post by: Mike on February 23, 2012, 08:37:37 PM cut to the chase .......................HOW MUCH ????? ;) ;)

imagine if a hoard of 10,000 of them were to be found it wont be very rare then , Title: Re: "RARE" half-Siliqua "UPDATE" Post by: Chef Geoff on February 24, 2012, 02:52:57 PM Great news Mick and lets face it you waited long enough for your Roman silver so you deserve a good one.
