I found it last year I think, and came out of the ground near Cardiff, as a nice young head Vicky 3 pence - 1856. Took it home and it sat there for a few days until the wife dropped it on our hard tiled floor and it then split perfectly down the seam. Appears to have two sides, but I thought these were milled as solid coins. Any ideas? Very odd - perfect splitthat runs the circumfrance of the coin.

It was made from the oriiginal by Brian Cross. The two thin coins of both the obverse and reverse were stuck together. this is why I made the comment to Neil's question. I may be wrong. Just had another look at - don't think its a modern or contemporary forgery - no distinguishing marks - weighs the same as several other 3d's and is definately silver. I just pulled the two parts away a bit further and both sides have a faint seperate imprint - not both faces Ian . All very odd. I've shown it to quite a few SCAN members and no one can offer an answer as yet. Any other ideas? Neil Title: Re: Anyone have any ideas on this one?
