I know thanks is never sought in metal detecting but an admission of the good we "can" do is always nice to read.

A very pleasing read that. The hobby will always have it's detractors but recognition like that from high above can only serve the hobby well. Thanks for sharing Geoff.

Surely the NCMD have have been proactive, and at the very least posted a link to this on their website.......hang on, the excitment is too great, I'll go and check...

Once again the NCMD website greets you to the sound of a distant church bell, a solitary cricket, the sound of wind and a tumbly bush...they must be busy I suppose.

Its great that good remarks are being made by such an organisation in favour of the hobby...But we must remember P.A.S. that would not operate without the mass of historical finds made and
reported by our hobby ..Some Museum field archeologists barely tolerate the hobby even though there collections have gained national status through out standing detector finds Huh

I think some of these people, still see us as a threat to years of academic training, were in reality, were supplying them with more and more information with every find reported, which in turn justifies their funding / jobs.
