Hi all

I know over the last year lots of new members have joined Detecting wales from the Hereford area, Alun (Deadlock), Rookypair and myself joined the Hereford club last year. Unfortunatley over the last couple of years for various reasons the club has not been very active and needs re - inventing. The club needs new members to compliment the existing few with some fresh ideas and enthusiasm to make it work.

Anyone interested would be welcomed to the next meeting on Monday 25th February at 20:00hrs at the Hereford Rowing club:

o.k i will help in bumping this thread as i believe that hereford club needs to reinvent itself to survive as a club,,, i was a member for 2 years and in that time introduced deadlock and i believe rookypair to the club as well as several others, hereford club in its heyday had 30+ members and has been around for years, i know that there are several ex members on this forum and it might be a idea just to get the old member sheets and do some ringing round to see if any previous members wish to attend, but hereford club hasnt been active for a long while and that is 1 thing that has to change if you want new blood within the club,,,,,,,,,,,,any other x members that wish to add there thoughts?.....all the best.

To me thats irrelavent, its going been re-invented starting a fresh with new members and enthusiasm brought to the table. At the end of day you can only get out what you put in.

Up to now its only once a month anyway mike, the last Friday in the month !

The way Im thinking is it just connects local detectorists who like to mix ! I myself like to mix lol plenty of time on your own when your dead.

The actual meeting is just a chance to quiz the flo and record finds etc

as we all know tinterweb,email and Facebook are the preferred method of communication these days.

Will try and get along for an hour or so, I hear there's a bar... ;)  Been meaning to go there for a while now, but never get around to it.  Trouble with clubs in my experience (not detecting ones, never bothered joining one yet), is getting concenus of opinion to get anything done, it usually becomes self defeating and they close... It requires quite a bit of work to keep the interest going and keep everyone happy, usually this falls to fewer and fewer members.  I hope the influx helps keep it alive.

There are alot of detectorists around hereford that would benefit from the club. We just need to build it back up again slowly.

Brilliant Guys look forward to seeing you, if politics gets in the way at the existing club then it may be time to start a fresh, we shall see how it goes  ;D ;D even if its just a website as a point of contact to start with and take it from there.

Ive started a facebook interest page see if this gets some attention  ;D

Just wanted to mention that I went to the meeting last night, as I have just recently moved back to Hereford and was very much welcomed, it  was a pleasure to be around very polite and experienced metal detectors.
Perhaps if there are people who are thinking of joining, well I recommend it and hope to be a regular face at the meetings.

we meet in the last monday of the month every month and its at the rowing club in hereford if ya want i can give you a lift from kington. save you 20 odd miles.
