Title: "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED RING FOUND"
Post by: mole on October 31, 2009, 08:25:37 PM
As I mentioned in my post yesterday ( doing my bit for the hobby ) went  to the farm at 10.00 this morning  :-\ met the farmer who told me it was his son inlaw or had lost his wedding ring in the cowshed : ;) he said give me five minutes to Moove the cows out ;D in the meantime his son inlaw appeared on the scene and proceeded to give me the gen  ::) he took me armed with my goldmaxx to the cowshed and pointed out where he was when he lost the ring yesterday ??? I told him upfront there was no gurantee that I,d find it!! but I,d do my best  ::) of we set had a signal straight away dug down through the straw and manure :-\ nothing there picking up the steel in the concrete floor had to ask him to get a bloody pitchfork this stuff is murder to get through started to break into a sweat  :o if the missus could she me she would,nt believe  after another five false signals  :P and a lot of twiddling of controls recieved a nice mellow /sweet signal  in went the pitchfork raised a big clump to see the ring standing on edge glinting in the sunlight  :o have we discovered a new way of cleaning gold ;D the son inlaw ruhed to the farmer who was also overjoyed ::) the farmer the said come whenever you like and proceeded to tell me about all the other fields that were a couple of miles away ;) I decided to have a quick recon of a few fields  ;D my finds for the day were not spectacular about 20 assorted buttons including one nice livery silver plated with a creast on 2 bronze buckles a couple of georgian grots 2 pre decimal pennys and a halfpenny a probable roman bronze grot a cut quarter of a silver hammered not detail though and to big to be a penny ??? and two small fragments of an hammered silver halfpenny  :o just remembered why I bought the goldmaxx  ;) ;D think I,ll be in for some more goodies thanks for the support ladies and gents with out your encouragement I would,nt have found the ring  :)
