Anybody got any advice for detecting on pasture. Just had permission for a lovely field near a derelict chapel and I am wondering how to tackle it with my ACE 150.

Give it a go Leytijenks. I was digging pasture earlier in the week and it was going back fine. I maybe telling you "how to suck eggs", but the easiest method is to find your target, make three cuts with your spade about 6 inches around it the width of your spade - like a letter C. then just prise it open and the grass will still be attached omn one side. Remove the object and just stamp it back down. Apart from a bit of top soil - it should leave little sign of your hole.

Hope that helps

Let us know how you get on.

cheers

Now that depends on wether you've been on pasture before or not. As you're asking for advice we assume you haven't.
So, the way most of us tackle a new field is to detect around the ouside first (not too near the wire fence) and then do a flag shape from corner to corner and middle to middle from the sides. Like a Union Jack. This will usually highlight any areas of interest which you can concentrate on.
You may find nearest to old buildings most productive and bumps are worth a scan over and around.
Dont leave any holes for big or little hooves to get caught in and always SHUT the gates. and thats about it.
Happy hunting. Oh, and welcome to the site.

I find turning the detector on first usually helps.
